The video game industry is one of the most lucrative businesses in the world right now.
As of 2022, it is worth over $13 billion and is expected to go over $321 billion by 2026. Moreover, some gaming companies made $126 billion in revenue just last year.
So, what are these companies and how did they succeed so remarkably?

Sony
We’re sure you’re already familiar with Sony Interactive Entertainment. It is one of the largest video game companies that is based in Japan.

Microsoft
If you’ve been gaming for a while, we’re sure you’ve heard about games such as Halo, Gears of War, and Forza Horizon.
These games are a part of the Xbox Game Studios, which is one of the largest gaming platforms out there. It was created by Microsoft in 2000 and it has been growing ever since.
As of now, the Xbox Game Studios has a team of over 10,000 employees in different countries. This alone proves the impact it has made in the gaming industry.
Similar to Sony, Microsoft also makes most of its sales through the Xbox console units. Other than that, it also has a handful of gaming products that are popular among gamers.

Nintendo
We’ve all enjoyed Mario or Pokemon games at least once in our lives.
These game franchises were created by Nintendo, which is one of the oldest and most successful gaming companies.
However, it didn’t start with games. In the past, Nintendo was known for selling playing cards. It wasn’t in 1981 when it released its first game Donkey Kong.
The game became so popular that it was an instant hit as soon as it was released in the United States. After that, Nintendo started working on consoles.
According to Nintendo History, since launching the NES over three decades ago, Nintendo has sold 790 million hardware units and 5 billion video games.

Tencent Games
Tencent Games might not be a familiar name. However, if you’re a gamer, it would be hard to believe that you haven’t heard about PUBG: Mobile or Honor of Kings.
Tencent Games is one of the valuable gaming companies today. However, it doesn’t do a lot for the console or PC gaming industry. Instead, it makes most of its revenue from mobile games.
Moreover, it also has shares in different video game companies such as Riot Games and Epic Games.
