    What Does A40 Feel Like?

    We tested Astro A40 to see how it holds up while gaming for long periods of time. 

    We were pleasantly surprised with how comfortable this headset is. It is mostly made with plastic but also has metal accents to hold the ear cups in place. 

    Moreover, it has cloth padding covering the ear cups so your ears won’t hurt if you wear them for an extended period. 

    At first, we were not a fan of the plastic build since it felt cheap. However, after testing it for several hours at a time, we realized that the plastic design was to increase flexibility and comfort. 

    With that being said, if you want a portable headset for on-the-go use, we suggest you find something else. 

    This is because the headset is too large to carry around and the headphones don’t fold up.

    How Do You Control A40?

    The Astro A40 has extremely straightforward control options making it a perfect headset for beginners. 

    The only control you’ll find on it is the mute toggle integrated into the cable. 

    However, if you want something more advanced, you can add volume controls to it. 

    To do this, we recommend you add accessories to it, like the MixAmp Pro TR. This way you’ll be able to control the game audio as well as your voice. Adding the MixAmp Pro TR to your headset will also make it perfect for streaming.

    After thoroughly testing the headset, we can say that it delivers a solid gaming experience. 

    Not only is it flexible, but it also has an excellent microphone that you can use in multiplayer games. 

    Moreover, it is compatible with a wide range of gaming systems, including PC and consoles such as Xbox.
